Itinerary

Day 1: Our group arrives in Punta Arenas, where your guide will take you to the Hotel Patagonia Pionera. In the afternoon there is the option of a city tour that includes the most significant places lookout points and the Museum Instituto de la Patagonia, in order to understand the concept of an “estancia” and their importance to the History of Magallanes. Once in the hotel, there is some time for relaxation and rest. Dinner is taken at Sotito’s Bar, the menu includes seafood, meat, vegetarian dishes and local gastronomy.
Day 2: At 09.00 we leave Punta Arenas and head to Estancia Laguna Sofia, a trip of 3,5 hrs. Halfway, we have a short stop at Estancia Cerro Negro, where we have the opportunity to see the farm dogs working with the sheep, to witness the sheep shearing and to boast your skills! We continue to Estancia Laguna Sofia where we will have lunch. After lunch we go for a ride around the estancia, visit some ancient caves and soak in the magnificent view from a lookout point. This is where you will have the opportunity to get familiar with your four footed friend and your saddle, the same as for the Race. Dinner is served at the Estancia Laguna Sofia.
Day 3 and 4: A maximum 2 hr ride in a moderate pace to get used to the rhythm. Return to the stables and change of horses. You will have the chance to explore the surroundings on your temporary horse during a 4 hr ride. Lunch break lasts 1 hr. Dinner and lodging at Estancia Laguna Sofia.
Day 5: We leave at 09.30 for our riding tour. This is the last day of training: after having fed the horses we go out for a short ride of 1 hr. After lunch the afternoon is free to spend: options are kayaking, fishing, horseback riding or trekking. Dinner and lodging at Estancia Laguna Sofia.
Day 6: At 9.30 riders and horses head to the starting point of the Endurance Race. The first veterinarian check will be held at Estancia Lazo. The afternoon is free to spend: options are a walk in the area or relaxing. Dinner and lodging at Hosteria Mirador del Paine.
Day 7: The race starts at 09.30. The riders are divided into 2 categories: Hunters (60-70 km) or Safari (30 to 45 km) There shall be no time for a proper lunch break, however a lunch box will be provided. Dinner and Lodging at Hosteria Mirador del Paine.
Day 8: We head to the Torres del Paine National Park at 09.30. Highlights of today’s trip: the Milodon caves, glaciers, mountains and a short trekking in Park. We arrive at Hotel Las Torres around 18.00. Dinner will be served at 20.00.
Day 9: Today’s excursion starts at 09.30. The ride lasts about 8 hrs: 4 hrs up to Las Torres and to the view point and the same for the way back. You will be able to soak in the breathtaking famous vista of the 3 towers. Dinner is served at 8.00.
Day 10: This is an early morning…. Experience the life of a cowboy and drive the horses into the corral together with the local gauchos at 07.15! The ride lasts 1 hr. After breakfast we will make our way back to Punta Arenas. But it is not finished yet….we will enjoy a traditional Lamb Roast lunch at the Estancia Puerto Consuelo.

Rates

Price: 2200 euros per person.
