Who are we?

Kawell means horse in Mapuche language. The Mapuche are the indigenous inhabitants of Central and Southern Chile and Southern Argentina.

Kawell Horseback Expeditions was created in order to promote equestrian tourism within Chile and its founders have been involved in the equestrian world for many years.
We have travelled across the whole of Chile to create original and adventurous expeditions, named “Kawell Produtcs”, which are characterized by:

  • Our focus on client security and respect for animals & the environment (see our Ethical Codes)
  • Our well trained and specialized guides. We have our own training center in order to continuously improve our service level. All our guides speak at least 3 languages.
  • Our philosophy is reflected in the composition of the expeditions, where we encourage our clients to discover Chile’s nature and its people. Sharing their daily lives for a brief moment of time is part of our trips.
  • A selection of destinations off the beaten path: we have designed exclusive expeditions to places so little frequented, that their natural beauty and cultural authentic is still preserved.

On our website you will also find “Friend Product” which are selected expeditions offered by other companies. These companies we have selected are obliged to fully oblige by our Ethical Codes.
